Are gas lamps safe?

Yes! American Gas Lamp Works gas and electric lamps employ well-proven designs and technologies. Gas lighting actually pre-dates electric lighting by several decades, and the Welsbach mantle lighting system has been used the world over for more than a century. You should keep in mind that gas lamps do get hot and should not be placed where they can be touched by children or animals.

What types of gas do your lamps use?

Our open flickering flame gas lamps can be equipped for use with natural gas (NG) ONLY. Our Welsbach mantle gas lamps can be equipped for use with natural gas (NG) or liquid propane (LP). Our electric lamps require 120V electric.

Can open flame be used with liquid propane (LP) gas?

Our open flame gas lamps are only available when fueled by natural gas; they are not compatible with liquid propane. The only option for LP gas is our gas mantle burner, which is similar to what you see in a Coleman camping lantern. It uses mesh mantles to provide a solid, white light, like a light bulb. Mantle burners are intended to burn 24/7 and do not flicker like a flame.

How much gas do AGLW fixtures burn when operating?

The amount of gas your lamps will use depends on the type of gas and burner you’re using. Please refer to our BTUs and Gas Facts page below for gas usage along various configurations.

How do you turn a gas lamp on and off?

All AGLW gas lamps include a manual ignition valve, located in the collar of the fixture, just below the burner. To light the lamp, simply turn the valve a 1/4 turn with a flathead tool (like a screwdriver) and ignite the burner inside the lamp with a long lighter.

We recommend leaving gas lamps burning 24 hours a day to reduce wear-and-tear of the components and to keep the gas line warm, preventing any buildup of debris or insects that may effect proper gas flow.

When using an open flame burner with Natural Gas, you may add an electronic ignition system for an upcharge. This requires both Natural Gas and 110/120V electric be run to each fixture and will allow you to control the flame with a light switch or a timer.

The electronic ignition system can only be purchased from AGLW in a new lamp.


How much light do American Gas Lamp Works fixtures produce?

First, please keep in mind that open flame lamps are designed to produce a gentle, flickering light that is intended principally for ambiance rather than illumination. They are perfect for accent lighting and for creating a unique environment, but open flame lamps should not be counted on as a primary light source.

Gas mantle lamps, GasGlow® LED and electric candelabra base lamps produce bright light and can be a primary illumination source. As a rule of thumb, each gas mantle and GasGlow® LED mantle produces the equivalent light output of a 50-watt incandescent electric bulb. As a result, a quad-mantle gas lamp or GasGlow® LED would produce light equivalent to about two 100-watt incandescent bulbs.

Can wind affect gas lamp performance?

American Gas Lamp Works gas fixtures are designed to perform in normal wind conditions, but both gas mantle and open flame gas lamps can blow out in strong winds. Several factors play into the susceptibility of specific lamps to wind, including the location of the lamp on a site or building and the wind patterns in your area.

What are your lights made from?

Our lamps are custom made from commercial grade sand-cast aluminum and heavy-gauge copper. Our lamps are built to last for generations. Please visit one of our dealers to experience first-hand the difference between our foundry craftsmanship and mass-produced fixtures.

Can I return a product if I don’t like it or it doesn’t fit?

All AGLW products are custom-made specific to your order. Due to the customized nature of our products, returns are accepted for product defects only.

What is the difference between gas mantle and open flame gas lamps?

Gas mantle lamps utilize incandescent gas mantles as their source of illumination. Traditionally known as Welsbach mantles for their inventor, Carl Auer von Welsbach, gas mantles generate a bright, steady white light when heated by a flame. Gas mantle fixtures can be configured as dual-, triple-, or quad-mantle lamps, depending on your lamp size and lighting requirements. Alternatively, open flame gas lamps emit a softer, flickering glow similar to that of a candle. Open flame gas fixtures are preferable where you’d like the ambiance of old-fashioned gas light but do not need significant light output.

Are American Gas Lamp Works fixtures certified?

Yes! All AGLW lamps are certified to the most rigorous ANSI standards and carry either an ETL or UL Listing.

Are you a real American manufacturer or just an online marketer?

The American Gas Lamp Works and its predecessor, Gas-Lite Manufacturing, have been designing and manufacturing natural gas and faux gas lighting for over fifty years. Where should I consider installing American Gas Lamp Works lamps?

Most gas lamps, whether gas mantle or open flame, are used to accent the exterior of a home or building. Our lamps and torches add drama and excitement to entrances, outdoor entertainment areas, walkways and drives. AGLW gas lamps can be mounted next to doorways, on walls, on posts, or on decorative piers. AGLW’s GasGlow® LED and electric candelabra lamps, which use electric energy, can be mounted almost anywhere, including the interior of homes and businesses.

Who can install my American Gas Lamp Works light fixtures?

Depending on the type of fuel you choose, gas or electric, we recommend that you coordinate installation with trained professional personnel. For AGLW gas lamps, please use a professional gas lighting specialist or an experienced local plumber. Our GasGlow® LED and electric candelabra fixtures can be installed by an electrician for dependable service. We recommend that you order your lamp early in the construction process so both the plumber and electrician are familiar with your lamp and its requirements at rough in. Most of our lamps are equipped with tempered glass to protect against thermal and physical shock.


What mounting options do you offer?

All of our lamps can be post-, pier-, or wall-mounted, and all of our mounts can be powder coated to match the finish you select for your lamp fixtures.

What kind of clearance is required for installing a gas lamp?

The minimum top clearance, from the lamp roof, should be no less than twelve (12) inches from any combustible surface. The clearance from any side should be no less than six (6) inches from any combustible surface.

What size gas line fitting is needed for the actual installation of a gas lamp?

For installations less than 200 feet in length, you will need to run a standard 3/8th inch copper line from your gas main to the base of the lamp fixture or lamp post. This feed line will then reduce to a ¼ inch copper flared line and flared fitting at the base of the post or mount.

How do I install a post for a post mount lamp?

Dig a hole in the ground that is approximately eight (8) inches wide and twenty-four (24) inches deep. Set the bottom of the post in the center of the hole. Pour concrete around the post to just below the level of the gas line access hole. Proper fitting for underground gas line will be a ¼ inch gas line through the post.

How do you turn a gas lamp on or off?

All of our gas lamps and torches are equipped with manual ignition, which is controlled via the gas valve, located in the collar of the fixture. A 1/4 turn of the valve will allow the user to open the valve and for gas to pass through. Applying direct flame to the burner inside the lamp will then ignite the flame or mantles. A 1/4 turn of the valve in the opposite direction will close the valve, causing the flame or mantles to go out.

Can American Gas Lamp Works configure my lamps to burn liquid propane (LP) gas?

All of our fixtures equipped with gas mantle burners can be configured for use with Natural Gas or Liquid Propane. Our open flame burners are compatible with Natural Gas ONLY. Please specify the type of gas you’ll be using when ordering. Operating a lamp equipped with a natural gas burner on propane can cause excessive heat and smoking and should be avoided.

Tips for Gas Lamp Maintenance

For Gas Lamps:

We recommend coordinating installation or service of gas lamps and lines with trained professional personnel. Please contact your local plumber, professional gas lighting specialist, or HVAC provider to schedule an installation or service appointment.

Professional gas specialists can often be found at retail stores that offer gas products. For example, a hearth & grill, fireplace, or pool & patio shop that sells gas grills, gas fireplaces, gas logs, gas torches, etc. Often times, these locations will have a service department with certified or experienced gas specialists who you may schedule an installation or service appointment with for your gas lamp.

To locate a specialist, please refer to a local directory.

- Gas Mantle Lamps:

Gas mantle lamps are rugged, durable fixtures that can last for generations. However, they require minor maintenance that is best performed by a professional service person. In general, we recommend the following:

  • Replace your gas mantles at least once per year, and at any time they are no longer fully intact.
  • Clean glass and remove debris twice per year. Removing debris will enhance the air flow around your mantles and improve their performance.
  • Use only authentic, hard, preformed mantles in your lamp. Hard mantles will produce more light, last longer, and retain their shape much longer than “soft” mantles at a very small additional cost.
  • Blow out the gas lines annually to ensure proper natural gas supply to your lamp.

- Open Flame Gas Lamps:

Open Flame illumination is for the discerning homeowner looking to infuse an outdoor setting with the warm, flickering light of an open gas flame. American Gas Lamp Works’ open flame gas lamps provide a dramatic ambiance to outdoor settings, entrances, and walkways. We recommend the following routine maintenance for your open flame lamp, best performed by a professional service person:

  • Clean glass and remove debris at least twice per year. Removing debris will enhance the air flow around the burner and improve its performance.
  • Clean the open flame burner tip at least twice per year. Run a piece of fine dental floss or use a wire brush to remove any debris or soot that’s settled in the burner tip.
  • Position the gas valve between 50-75% open, to where the bottom of the flame is touching the tip of the burner. Opening the valve too far can create an air pocket between the burner tip and the bottom of the flame, which can cause frequent blowouts.
  • Adjust the flame by inserting a flat head tool or screwdriver through the valve access hole in the collar of the lamp. Turn the valve slowly to adjust the height and shape of the flame.

Please note: Turning the valve too fast or too far can cause the flame to extinguish. If the flame extinguishes, turn the valve to the OFF position and following the re-lighting instructions.

Cleans so you don't have to... QUIETLY

I previously bought a Deebot for use on our main level floor, where we spend most of our time at home. It works great and connects with our Google Home. But we run it in the middle of the weekdays because it's pretty noisy. Still, we really like the benefits of a robotic vacuum. So, we thought we might try it on our lower level. I set it up downstairs, but found that, while it seemed to pick up dirt, the back end bounced quite a bit over the berber carpet, which isn't an issue on the main floor which is hardwood with only one entry rug. So, we went about looking for an alternative for downstairs. We really wanted something that can connect with our Google Home, so that limited our options within our budget. There were lots of great reviews of iRobot products for carpet, but I had a hard time with the price. There were a few other brands, as well, but they were obscure brands, and I didn't want to be stuck with an expensive vacuum and no customer service. Eufy was a brand I kept in mind as I shopped because we'd had a lot of experience with their parent brand, Anker. They've always sold us a great product at a reasonable price, and importantly, if a product failed for any reason, we'd experienced great customer service. I finally decided I'd pull the trigger on the RoboVac 30C because it had the features we wanted. I ordered it from Amazon on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other stuff I wanted to get. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Black Friday pricing, but it was still very competitive over the deeply discounted Roomba models *(see below). It arrived on Sunday, so very quick shipping via Amazon Prime. We set it up right away. The first, VERY OBVIOUS thing we noticed... It's quiet* (see below). Way quieter than the Deebot. As we had hoped, it also picked up dirt from the carpet easily and without bouncing. The magnetic strips also helped to avoid another pitfall of the Deebot... We have these chairs with unusual bases that are low enough on the edges for the vacuums to drive themselves up on, then there's a hole about 3 inches from the edge that creates a cliff for the vacuum to get hung up on. Both vacuums will do that, but the Eufy 30C has those strips which it won't cross. Put the strips around the base of the chairs, and no hangups. The only issue right now is that, unfortunately, the Eufy app doesn't play with Google Home very well. We are assuming that will get fixed. And if it doesn't, the app works pretty well as a stand alone, which is the next best thing, so I won't dock any stars for that. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this vacuum so far. It does clean very well and doesn't have any problem doing approximately 400 square feet on a single charge around furniture and other odds and ends on the floor. *Customer service : Many vendors will contact Amazon customers shortly after purchase of one of their products to make sure all is well. Eufy did this. I thought I'd give them a preliminary review because I wanted to let them know that things were going well so far. I mentioned that it worked great (didn't know about the Google home issue, yet, but I was overall pleased). I mentioned as an aside that it was a tiny bit annoying that it arrived on Sunday and the Cyber Monday deal made a significant price difference. Still, I liked it enough that I wasn't going to be too annoyed. I certainly wasn't going to try to return it and buy it again to get the better price. A couple days later, they thanked me for my comments... And refunded me the difference in price. They definitely didn't have to. But it was pretty awesome of them. *Noise level: My hubby set up the schedule for the RoboVac 30C. He decided to go with the same schedule as the Deebot, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the middle of the day. But instead of setting it up for 12:01 pm, he set it for am. It was running in the middle of the night and we didn't know it for 2+ weeks. I discovered it when I decided to make sure to have the app on my phone too and saw the scheduling error. To be fair, we sleep on the upper level of our modified split level house and the RoboVac is on the lower level, but I have ears like a bat, and had no idea. And yes, it's cleaning - - I've been cleaning out the dust bin for it regularly. Definitely wouldn't have been that way with the Deebot. So, yeah. It's quiet.

My little OCD cleaner - 2020 One Year UPDATE

One year update: I bought my 2 Eufys Aug. 2019 and use them once a week or every two weeks and have come across some quirks. The most recent quirk is Eufy just stopping in the middle of a room with the blue light still on and no error beeps. Apparently, it stops for no reason. I hit the remote start and it continues its job. Another quirk is stopping and beeping with blinking light for some reason (keep your manual handy) and once was because of the front Pivot wheel not moving because of hair being wound around it. I popped the wheel off, cleaned out the hair, reset Eufy by pushing the reset button on the bottom and it then worked fine. Another quirk was getting to the stairs and for some reason couldn't turn around and started beeping. That time I just wiped the three sensors on the bottom and reset it and it was fine after that. One day, it just continually stopped for no reason that I could find. It just stops, no beeping and still fully charged. I just kept resetting it with the bottom reset button until it finally finished the room. That happened about 10 times that day. Over the winter, I had a stray cat decide she wanted to live with me, so now I have a cat with long hair and she sheds a lot. Eufy doesn't pick up large tufts of her hair from my rugs, so I use a hair mit on the worst spots on my rugs and then Eufy does a fine job on the rugs. Another tip, try using your magnet strips to divide up larger rooms. I ended up having to do that in my living room because otherwise it took forever for Eufy to hit every area. Now I divide it in half. When one half looks complete, I pick up Eufy and put it in the other half. That works well! Also, your magnet strips can be stuck to the side of your refrigerator for storage! I find that very handy. :) You really do need to clean Eufy between charges. I have my system broken down into Living room and kitchen. Clean and charge (about 4.5 hours), then the hallway, bathroom, bedroom. Clean it and charge. Then lastly, my office/sewing room. Clean it and charge. It takes only 5- 10 minutes to clean it between uses. I'm still thrilled I have these Eufys and have decided I will never be without a Robo Vac - ever. And hopefully Eufy will still be around when I need a replacement. I bought these partly because of the Anker name. I've bought other Anker products for years and they're always made well. End of update. I bought two of these yesterday with the Deal of the day and received them today. They both took about 3 hours to fully charge and then it was off to the races. One went downstairs and the other one upstairs. I left the Eufy downstairs in the basement to do its thing on low pile carpet and tile and went down to check on it periodically. Twice I found it stuck in strange places. One was on top of a small table base and the other was lodged next to my furnace. I'll just have to block those two areas next time. The one upstairs was in my kitchen for a good 45 minutes to an hour! OCD I'd say, but my kitchen is nice and clean. :) Rugs included. These do an excellent job with edge cleaning. The one in the kitchen miraculously followed the curves in the pedestal base on the table. Pretty cool. It also traveled over all my wood floor vent covers which is pretty impressive because they're pretty thick! It also fits under most of my furniture. I sent a Roomba back years ago because it wouldn't fit under my sofa, loveseat and tables. That made it useless for me. These fit under everything except a lowboy chest and 3 smaller tables in my living room...Swiffer will take care of those. The drop sensors worked perfectly at the stairs. It turned around instead of going down. The upstairs Eufy finished my kitchen, living room, entryway and was in the bathroom when the red light came on and is now charging. Both Eufys ran for the 100 minutes as stated in the manual. I emptied the upstairs bin twice, but only because I had stopped the Eufy to get it out of the kitchen and before I sent it to charge. The bin wasn't full either time, but had plenty of dirt and fuzz in it, so I'm happy with that! I decided I'm not programming a schedule because I don't need my house cleaned daily. It's just me here and no pets anymore, so I will manually turn them on once or twice a week. I did pick EVERYTHING up off my floors for this first cleaning, but that's just not ever going to happen again. It was a PIA and I could have vacuumed my entire house in the time it took to clear the floors. I'll leave the cords zip tied, but everything else is staying put next time. All that work defeats the purpose of having these. I am THRILLED TO DEATH with these though. Vacuuming is one of my least favorite chores. These will definitely be used weekly and I look forward to watching them work instead of me! Also, these are sooooo quiet. You can't even hear where they are in the same room as you if they're cleaning underneath something. I'm so glad I bought them and at an excellent price. The exorbitantly expensive robo vacs are just not feasible for me. Maybe if they had a 20 year life span, they would be, but they don't. I'm also not into controlling everything through a stupid app or WiFi. Don't need those and don't want those. I don't need NHS knowing when I'm vacuuming my house. These were worth every cent, IMO Great little vacs!

OMG! This is one the single best purchases I've made! It's a life changer! I can wash dishes, walk the dog, do laundry, work on computer, workout, work in the yard, go shopping, etc., while vacuuming. I love the multitasking it provides. Saves so much time and my floors have never been so consistently cleaned. I wouldn't say I hate vacuuming, but I do dislike it enough that I didn't vacuum as much as I should've. I dreaded taking vacuum out of closet, getting arm and back fatigue/achiness then needing to wrap it up to store it away..... I truly thought the Eufy would be something I'd end up returning because of poor performance or because I would simply not like or use it. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I loved it from the very first use!.... Can't understand why I hadn't bought one long ago! Everybody needs one; they just don't know it!..... I named it 'WOW' because that's what I kept saying as I watched it clean my floor. It cleaned under my bed which alone made it a keeper! It's quiet, so much so, during first uses I searched for it thinking it had turned off/stopped working when actually it was working perfectly, I just couldn't hear it. I had to go into the room and stand near it to hear it. An equally important factor is it doesn't frighten my easily frighten dog which could have been a deal breaker (happy dog = happy life). She just looks at, occasionally will follow, it with curiosity or ignores it. Probably the best compliment is my husband (who often thinks a purchase is not needed/money wasted) having said my WOW was a good/useful buy. I was shocked! Think his exact words were, "Getting that was a good idea". When I asked him why he said that, he said because it's helpful and it does a good job..... Set up was super easy (I don't use app. One reason I chose this model is I wanted to use manual remote). The included accessories show Eufy's thoughtfulness which helps to put their vac over the top. (I plan to use only original replacement brushes, filters in appreciation and support for their offering a quality product at a great price) ..... I thought I wouldn't like the random movement and had strongly considered the 30G Edge (took me forever to decide b/w the two), but I find I really like the randomness. I feel it similarly patterns the way I'd normally vacuum (as well as it being normal needing to pick up cords, etc. , so to me that isn't a negative). The random pattern makes it quick. Can use remote if feel a spot was missed (which is why I wanted remote), but it does clean whole area - just set it and forget it. I now know the slow, streamline pattern of the 30G Edge would have been frustrating..... I could go on and on, e.g., drop sensors work flawlessly, spot cleaning helpful for entry rugs, empty/cleaning dust bin/filter is quick and easy, boundary strips have been helpful - only downside is strip packaged in a roll makes it not lay straight once unrolled (ends curl up); perhaps it could be in strips instead of a roll, and to ensure no damage, I chose to use painter's tape to attach strip to floor, and battery life good so far. I have always needed to turn it off before battery ran low because the floors were done. Once I let it continue to test the battery length, but it was taking so long I ended up turning it off after approximately an hour. It successfully finds dock, takes extra time if obstacles blocking its way..... To end a long review I will lastly say I feel the suction power is very adequate; leaves passage trails on carpet and evidential proof in the dust bin! Like others, I chose Eufy because of Anker's reputation, and because of the good customer service reviews. Thinking of getting a second one for upstairs... Love, love, love my 30C Max!

ONE YEAR IN REVIEW I have mixed thoughts because I really like it, the app is great, it cleans great. I’ve stayed on-top of all the maintenance the app has asked me to do and found replacement parts here and there as needed. I have it run everyday and it does a great job, works about as good as I could have imagined in terms of cleaning. Unfortunately exactly one year after purchasing it, 6 days after the one year warranty expired, I started having issues. For about a week I got the same error of “roller brush stuck”. I cleaned the brush, paid for replacement parts, followed every trouble shooting suggestion in the app, same error. Contacted support and did everything they told me to do in terms of trouble shooting. On Reddit I learned this is a common problem and probably from a motor issue. Worked with support for a few weeks and eventually they offered to repair it for me, even though it was a few days over the warranty. Super stoked with that. But had the weirdest interaction with the support people, felt like I was dealing with some like 3rd party questionable service, just not the interactions I expected for such a “high end” expensive product. Contacted them through the app, got an email response and they sent me a shipping label. I packed it up very well, wrapped it up, and sent it off for repair. Like two weeks later get it back on my doorstep, in the same box I sent it in, but all squished. Vacuum just set ontop of the same bubble wrap I sent it in, but like not wrapped or protected . Device was clearly beat up, everything in the box was wet and there were random parts scattered throughout the box and a panel missing from the top of the vacuum that wasn’t even in the box. Also just realized MULTIPLE parts are missing. I’m not only missing a random panel, but also a brush guard, filter and dust bin, all pieces that I sent in. I literally feel like I got scammed. So confused and disappointed. For like a $900 vacuum and only one year out, I’m disappointed to have had such a major issue so quickly and to have such an unprofessional experience with the service group. I’ve never seen something packed so poorly and was shocked, like actually dumbfounded to have found that parts are missing and like such an obvious one too, literally the panel on-top, I noticed it before the box was even open all the way. I couldn’t tell you if it worked or not because with exposed wiring and chips from the missing panel plus all the other missing parts, it literally cannot be used, it’s useless. No idea what to do now besides pray they sent me parts or just replace the thing. UPDATE: 40 something emails later I finally begged someone to send me a new device. Their original suggestion was for me to buy all the replacement parts they took and they would refund me 15% back, ridiculous in my opinion, but I literally cannot buy the most important part, the top panel that was stolen, it’s not something they sell. The “new” device they finally sent me was all scratched up with dirt, gravel, kitty litter and cat food scattered throughout the packaging. The vacuum was literally covered in the gravel and all scratched up. Clearly a returned device that was sent back dirty and no one cleaned it up before sending it to me. I thought it was all cleanable but the scratches were deep and one is right over the camera. I asked if I could exchange it and was literally told I should be grateful they sent me anything and they wouldn’t help me anymore… The customer service is so bad it’s just not worth it, get something else, save yourselves the struggle. Because of all this, I wouldn’t recommend this product. For the price, I’d expect it to last more than a year without a major repair issue needed (replacing the motor) and I’d expect better customer service and a better warranty. Stay away, it’s too expensive and too risky :(

Eufy 30C is MARVELOUS!

I purchased this Eufy 30C after 6 months of chiding from my sister, who has one. Eufy - where have you BEEN my whole life! I have uneven saltillo tile floors in this home - I was sweeping floors nearly everyday just trying to keep the floors clean in this desert environment. On a daily basis, I just could NOT keep the floors clean enough for our barefoot habits. This vacuum cleans VERY well! I turn it loose every day - it cleans under furniture and beds, it cleans my lower-nap area rugs very nicely. I use the Auto mode (random cleaning pattern). The bumper is gentle on furniture legs and walls, the sweeper automatically goes into/out of baseboard cleaning - it cleans all along the walls! Most rugs I can leave in place and let the sweeper clean those, also. The few rugs that do get caught up in the brush, I just pick up before starting the cleaning. I have moved cords so they are permanently not in the way, so I only had to deal with those issues once. The suction on this vacuum is terrific - the combination of the spinning side brushes and the roller brush pick up everything. If the sweeper has been there, the area is spotless! It moves easily from floors to rugs. I normally run the sweeper as we are having breakfast - it is very quiet, although a little "rattling" as it moves across these saltillo tiles. I have used the daily programmed mode, but personally prefer to run it when I am "ready" (some rugs picked up). The vac does not ever seem to "miss" a room using this random pattern, and eventually it seems to get everywhere in a room. It just roams around the house and does it's thing - WITHOUT my help, and better job than I did on a daily basis! I have a large, heavy-nap area rug that I prefer to run the regular sweeper on once a week rather than have my Eufy waste sweeping power there. I placed the boundary strips under the very edges of that rug to keep the Eufy off. This works most times although, occasionally, Eufy finds his way onto that carpet, anyway. I have to remind myself, but I do use an upright sweeper on all the rugs and a canister sweeper for the tile about every one to two weeks. I empty the waste container everyday when cleaning is finished (I am always amazed at how much this sweeper "finds" and picks up!). I also clean the filters everyday with a small, battery powered hand vac (opposite the direction of airflow of the Eufy). This seems to remove the fine dust from the filter. I did purchase an additional filter set. Each week, I change the filter to a clean one, and wash out the used filter under running-spray tap water and let it dry. The filters are disposable pressed paper (and a small foam filter sheet that is also washable), but I have interchanged these two filters for 6 months and they are still working just fine. Emptying the waste container and cleaning/changing the filters is extremely easy and fast. I clean the roller brush of hair and carpet fuzz as needed. I have contacted the company with questions and they were extremely responsive. I also had the brush guard replaced from the company without any issues or questions at all. Customer service was very nice. (I believe the uneven tiles just wore on a very small rubber piece and it eventually came off. Looking back, I really don't believe it affected the performance of the sweeper, or the brush guard, at all. If it happens again, I probably will not bother to replace it). I cannot think of one dislike I have of this Eufy 30c. I believe the price was extremely reasonable for the excellent job it does. It has made a big difference in the attitude I have about this house as the one, most annoying, issue I had - seemingly constantly dirty floors - is now a non-issue. If this sweeper broke down tomorrow, I would have trouble getting another here fast enough!
